Valerie serves as Chief Executive Officer for the firm and brings a wealth of experience in Fixed Income trading, fund management and investment advisory.

Prior to joining Laurus Africa, Valerie served as Vice President, Capital Markets for Obsidian Achernar Ltd where she was responsible for interbank and institutional fixed income transactions with an average monthly turnover of GHS800 million in traded volume.
Valerie began her career with IC Asset Managers where she served as the fund administrator managing operations of assets under management of over GHS600 million.

Valerie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Mathematics from University of Ghana, is a CFA level 2 candidate and holds the ACI dealing certificate. She also holds a certificate in the Ghana Securities Industry Course at the Ghana Stock Exchange.

Ben is responsible for providing the overall strategic direction for the firm by directing efforts to identify and win new business opportunities.

Prior to that, Ben was Head of Fixed Income Trading at Strategic African Securities Limited where his efforts positioned the firm as a key player in the Ghana Fixed Income Market. He worked with the team on Ghana’s Eurobond buy-back program and also the book-building process for its bond issuance during his time with the firm. Ben has a decade of experience in the debt
capital market and has been involved in transactions valued in excess of USD9 billion.

Ben Wilson began his career with Barclays Bank Ghana now Absa Bank Ghana as a Tele Sales Assistant and Markets/Treasury Analyst in the bank’s Treasury and Market’s Department.

He holds a BA. Economics and Geography degree from the University of Ghana and has successfully completed the securities industry course of the Ghana Stock Exchange.

Ben is currently undertaking the Securities Trading course from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI-UK).

Belinda is a skilled finance professional with expertise in financial reporting, budget management, audit, payroll, taxation, and compliance. At Laurus Africa, she provides finance and tax advisory services while collaborating with department heads to drive growth strategies and also coordinates the financial activities across the firm.

With prior experience in the financial sector and audit, she brings a strong foundation in financial management.

Belinda holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Cape Coast and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG), currently pursuing the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIT) program.
